Sketchbook
I have been itching to acquire a new hobby lately, and spent a few days thinking about what I could do that would use some fine motoric skills. My first answer was ceramics, because I love having assorted ceramics at home, but I soon realized that it meant stocking up on a garage full of material, colors, and kilns. Not to be robbed of a new hobby, I thought some more. I was at a book store yesterday when the idea finally hit me, and I bought a guide to sketching “retro comic book” style characters. Here are some of my experiments from day 1 of sketching:
And here is what I really want to do with it – document snippets of my life with silly cartoons. This conversation really happened, and it was as unexpected and funny as you would imagine!
The best part of this hobby of course is that Ro has his own sketch book, and we spend quality time sitting next to each other and drawing silly cats.
