Kid’s got wheels
After his very fun experiences snowboarding, Ro decided he wanted to try skateboarding. We bought him a skateboard two weeks ago (prior to his second skate park visit), but he felt like he couldn’t ride it. So of course, I called around, and found him an instructor.
Waiting for the instructor to show up.

As soon as he got there, his instructor Terry brought out a spare board for Ro. Apparently the generic boards are not good to learn on. So Ro got to use one with nicer (softer, wider) wheels.
We started with stopping. The most important skill.
Then an instructor assisted glide to learn how to balance.
Within minutes, he was off! He is finishing up a heel-side turn in this image. It was so fun to watch!
Finishing up a stop and hopping off the front.
Working on another braking method.
All done! Ro has such a blast! We’ll be having another class soon.
Back with his own board, which will be getting new wheels very soon.
