Dosa man
Dude made me proud by digging in with his fingers.
Hubby and I are big fans of Biryani & Grill in south Austin. Ever since I learned the chef is from southern India, I have made it my venue for a good dosa fix. On our most recent visit, I decided to order for both of us, with Marc standing a few steps behind me.
Me: One mysore masala dosa
Guy at counter: It will be spicy, ma’am.
Me: Sure. And one mirchi ka salan.
Guy: It will be very spicy ma’am.
Me: That’s fine. And one gongura goat.
Guy, shooting furtive glances at Marc: These are all very spicy ma’am.
Me: I know. Don’t worry about him, he eats spicier food than I do.
He must not have been very convinced by my answer. The food did come out extremely spicy, but this guy took it upon himself to walk up to our table and personally ask Marc if the food was okay and not too spicy. Then, seeing Marc stuff his face with the hot chilli in the mirchi ka salan, he left pretty reassured.
