Dinner at Kemuri Tatsu-ya
We tried out Kemuri Tatsu-ya recently after hearing about its awesomeness from a few friends. It totally lived up to our expectations, with delicious food in a low-key Austinite ambiance.
The raw oysters with dipping sauce were simply to die for. Next time I’ll be getting a half dozen.
They have a sampling menu of nasty and almost-nasty stuff. I highly recommend the wasabi octopus. The marinated squid was also yummy. I won’t be getting the fermented soy beans again, though the husband liked them.
Here’s us, post-dinner, looking very pleased 😀
Cucumber sunomono was delicious. The smoked octopus on it is purely optional. Next time I’ll be getting just the greens.
They have creative cocktails as well. I forgot what this one was, but it was perfect for a warm summer evening.
We followed this up with a visit to Tous le Jours, a Korean bakery chain that has opened in Austin.  Good selection of pastries and bread. Stay away from the quasi healthy stuff like sweet-potato mousse, and just got for the real dessert 🙂
And me again, chillaxing at Tous les Jours. In all, a splendid time was had by us!
